Campout

Brandt is the Scout Master in our ward so he gets to go on the monthly campouts with the young men. This month they invited the families to come out and enjoy dinner and a campfire. Since the campsite was only 2 miles from our home Avery and I decided to attend. This was Avery's first experience with fire and she seemed to enjoy it.

I do think all the excitment wore her out!

The Oklahoma State Fair

Another September has come, and with it our yearly outing to the Oklahoma State Fair. Once again the venue provided a unique experience with plenty to eat and behold. This year was Avery's first experience, and it did not dissapoint. Her little eyes could not keep up with all the sights, sounds, (and smells). We enjoyed our yearly "Indian Taco," homemade rootbeer in a jug, and 52-thousand calorie cinnamon roll (with pecans and icing). We passed on the deep-fat fried oreos, snickers, and garlic mashed potatoes on a stick (maybe next year?). They don't do it like this back home, that's for sure.

My Cute Little Girl

OK, so I promised myself that I would never turn into one of those "My kids are the cutest in the world" moms, but I'm afraid it is beginning to happen to me... It seems like she always knows how to put on a show for the camera, and we can't resist snapping as many photos as possible.

The Culinary Crew

I have joined a group of friends who are involved in a monthly cooking club where we get together for a gourmet meal. This month Christina Berg and I teamed up as hostesses. I was in charge of the decorations and table settings, and she was in charge of the food. Thanks to everyone for such a great time. Can't wait until next month. Yankee Stadium

Brandt has been a die-hard Yankees fan forever. When he found out four years ago that 2008 would be the last season of Yankee Stadium, he started planning his pilgrimage to the great cathedral of sports (his words). So, last weekend he and his friend Doug made the trek to New York. Brandt got the chance to tour Yankee Stadium and even sit in the dugout. All in all I think he had a great time. Avery got a pink Yankees hoodie, and I even got a knock-off Versace purse out of the trip.

I am an awful blogger!

Okay, so, I am really bad at blogging. My first and last post was in July. So, to catch you up to September here is a quick list of what is going on. Avery is rolling all over the house. She smiles all the time and will occasionally laugh. She loves R&B music and her favorite song is Forever by Chris Brown. If she is crying all you have to do is play the song over and over again to make her stop. Avery loves the bath tub and sucking on her fist. I can't believe how big she is getting.

We had the chance to go home to Utah in August to my brother Jordan's wedding and to bless Avery. We had a great time and Avery loved meeting all of her cousins. I have attached a few pictures of Avery in her blessing dress. My mother made the dress and I think she did a beautiful job and Avery looks so cute in it!
